Alfonso O. Salazar
- Criminal Defense
Alfonso Salazar was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He joined the Air National Guard in 2008. He became a Security Forces member and then went on to become a Combat Arms training and Maintenance instructor. Over a span of twelve years Mr. Salazar went on various international deployment missions. He honed his skills in policing and military tactics through inter-agency operations and training.
Mr. Salazar was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin in 2010. In 2012, He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in History. He also received a certificate of European studies. In 2013, He was accepted to Baylor Law School. He competed in various scholastic competitions and was the vice president of the Military Law Society. While still training for his military obligations and attending Law School, Mr. Salazar interned for Williamson and McLennan County District Attorney's offices. In 2017 Mr. Salazar went on clerk for Judge Vikram "Vik" Deivanayagam. After completing his clerkship, Mr. Salazar went on to be Judge Deivanayagam's Political Consultant. Mr. Salazar moved to Austin and became a Campaign manager. In 2017, Mr. Salazar passed the Bar and was licensed.
Already possessing Courtroom experience from his various internships and clerkship; Mr. Salazar started own criminal defense practice. He practiced in the Bexar and Travis County from 2017 to 2019. In 2019 Mr. Salazar went on his final deployment for the Air Force. Upon Return from a successful deployment, He began working for Dunham and Jones. He was a criminal defense associate in the Travis and Hays county area. Mr. Salazar desired to be more involved with his clients. To achieve this, he Partnered with long time friends and Baylor colleagues Christin Villanueva and Michael Tucker. They created Villanueva, Salazar and Tucker, PLLC in 2021.
During his personal time Alfonso studies Jujitsu and combat sports. He is aspiring to be an amateur Mixed Martial artist and competitive shooter. He enjoys volunteering at local animal shelters to train and spend time with the animals.
