Driving requires a motorist’s constant attention to avoid an accident on the road. All too often, unexpected incidents can happen at any time while one is driving, which can lead to serious consequences if the driver is not paying attention to his or her surroundings. Such seems to be the case involving a recent fatal accident in Arlington.
Detail regarding the crash
Reports state that the accident occurred the morning of Saturday, Dec. 4. It happened on S. SH 360 in the 2300 block. Apparently, a pickup collided with another vehicle, a BMW, from behind. The BMW was reportedly stalled in traffic.
The accident caused the death of one person and injured three others. The deceased victim was reportedly a passenger in the BMW. He was described as a 27-year-old man and was declared dead at the hospital. Two others in the car, a 29-year-old man and 28-year-old man, suffered injuries. The 29-year-old man’s injuries were described as serious, and he was taken to a local hospital. The other man had minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. The driver of the pickup, 43, also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Legal recourse for victims
Although the report states that the man driving the pickup that struck the car from behind was cooperating with authorities and will likely not face charges, it may be determined that he was acting negligently for having not stopped in time to avoid the accident. If so, he may face wrongful death and/or personal injury claims from the surviving family of the deceased as well as from those injured. Those adversely affected will need to work with an experienced personal injury attorney to gain a full understanding of their rights and options regarding the pursuit of compensation.
